About

Participating in Greek Life offers an opportunity for you to meet a diverse and intelligent group of men and women. Greek students pride themselves on being able to successfully balance campus involvement, individual philanthropies, community service, social activities, and most importantly, academics.

Fraternities and sororities have a long history at the university, with each organization contributing unique qualities to the Greek community. Founded in 1845, fraternities and sororities have been able to expand and grow, to build the strong community we are today.

Our campus offers a wide variety of chapter types from social organizations, religiously founded, and culturally rooted Latina, African-American, Multicultural, and Asian-interest chapters. Each of the organizations, regardless to the council they belong to, are connected based on the foundation of the four pillars of Greek life – service, scholarship, leadership and friendship for life.

We encourage you to be a part of the ever-evolving history of the Rutgers Greek community. Every individual organization offers a different experience to its members, yet unity is a value we pride ourselves on. If you are interested in joining this community, you can find more information under "Recruitment" regarding the Panhellenic Recruitment process. We hope you consider going Greek - because no matter the size, no matter the letters, we are all Greek together.
